About Head Coach Frederick Cavitt

I  started Coaching Track at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Collin County in 1982 where I took 12 kids to the TAAF State Track and Field meet at UTEP in El Paso TX.   We pick up 12 medals - 7 gold, 3 silver, and 2 Bronze

When I moved to the Keller/Fort Worth area, I started coaching with Michael Glenn as an assistant. Head Coach and Sprinter/Hurdle Coach at the Watauga Parks & Recreation Center. After they discontinued the program,  I decided to go at it by myself with the help of volunteers. I started the program at Timberview Middle School where I worked as a security specialist.

I ran high school track at McKinney High School, running the 330 and 100-yard hurdles track was fun for me.   After my second tour in the Navy and while in college I always coached football, basketball, and track. For 35 years I have been coaching some form of sports. I am a High School Federation Certified

I have two sons who were sprinters in college. My oldest son Glenn was an All-American at UTA in the 200 and 400 meters, He is now in the UTA Hall of Fame. Jordan ran at Timber Creek High School he was the first student to receive Div. I scholarship to Kansas State and transferred to the University of Houston with US Gold Medalist, Carl Lewis.
